Another ponce hole thats gone - lol, I find it all very amsuing we are talking about places I told you were crap months and months ago! Yes Le Moulin needs a lick of paint, but guess what, it still remains open after all these years with a strong customer base and thats because the quality and value remain. All these poncey places aimed at wannabe yuppies end up down to earth within a few years. So predictable.

Louisa.

Sad to hear it has closed down but we ate there once and it was a terrible meal and cost a fortune. Good bar area though.

Looking forward to a nice Italian restaurant if the rumours are to be believed. And incidentally, has anyone been to Lorenzos near Peckham Rye and how does it compare to the fabulous Crystal Palace branch?

Cant say owt at the mo Jeremy but IF things come to fruition I will post as soon as I can. The Green was a going concern for quite a few years so must have suited some. I had good and bad experiences in there, mostly good it has to be said.
Sad to see any cafe/restaurant close down. At least the Green was a place to grab a coffee if I was up by the Goose Green swings. Still, never much liked the place. It was confused about it's identity - was it a bar, a restaurant or a cafe. Seemed to get caught between stools.

I only went once, the service was not very good, they bought us a different bottle of wine than the one we ordered and it had no atmosphere.

It feels like a convenience store that's had all its shelves ripped out and a few sofas plonked here and there.

I will not miss it. If they are inept enough not to be able to sort their problems, I don't have much sympathy. Well maybe a little bit. A bit of imagination and solid customer care wouldn't go a miss. It's not as though they haven't been doing it for a while.

Hannah's was also terrible. What was that ingredient in the pasta I had, bovril, gravy granules, hp sauce? Not sure, but it tasted foul.

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
    • I don't! But I've also taken to calling myself David, as it seems to shorten the odds of achieving something in life. It's not King Dave, Dave Lloyd George, Dave Hockney, Dave Bowie or Dave Hasselhoff is it? And I'm not sure Michelangelo would have had such success if he'd called his sculpture 'Dave'.
    • I think there is still a shoes/clothes recycling bank outside of North Dulwich station.
