Ooh hello - just found this group! My first is due 6th March and I'd love to meet other mums-to-be in the area. I'll also be starting NCT classes in January 30th in East Dulwich (Trussochs Road) if anyone else will be there?

I'm working through to Feb 8th so will only be able to make evening/weekend get together unfortunately.

Hope to meet you soon,

Suzie

I've also booked the NCT classes in East Dulwich with Tessa Dailey on Trossachs Road but it only start in April as I am due mid-May. Not sure if anyone else is signed up for those?

Unfortunately I can't meet up on the 29th as we're away.

I was in charge of the meet up this Thursday evening (December 29th) at The Actress from 8pm. I've only seen a response from Cornelia so far. Can anyone else make it? If not, we might need to leave it to the new year (excpet for those who can make the 29th...)!

I'll confirm the meeting on Thursday based on the respone here. It would be great if a few of us can get together!

Hi there,

I wanted to check in to say I'm still watching this thread and keen to meet up with folk in the New Year. Things are just a little hectic before then!

I hope everyone's pregnancies are progressing well and you all have a lovely Christmas,

N x

Goodness,

I think I am the latest to join this thread... But I would like to and also to meet up

We moved from Islington to Camberwell/ed about a month ago and have barely had time to check out the area. I am due end of April with number 2... My daughter is already 3.

Still working but it's likely to ease off in the new year (when we start building work eek)

I could come on 29th EDT if it's on and otherwise keen to meet in the new year (and maybe do that refresher course ... Forgotten it all!)

Thanks

Jude (Piaf)

Hi all,

I have just found out about this club by a lady I met in yoga in East Dulwich (she is in Winter babies). I am 27 weeks, due on March 27 2013. Would love to meet other 'mummies to be in the area', although I live in West Dulwich would be happy to join you in E Dulwich or other place. Is it alright if I join?

Damn it... Christmas meet up with some friends on Bellenden Road means we are unlikely to make it today unless my 3 year old decides she is not going to nap. Would really like to meet you all tho, especially being new to the area and if cant come today will be there in Jan. also, is anyone doing the birth matters refresher course?

Finally, what about the Victoria inn on Bellenden rd for a future meet up? Very child friendly

Hello,

Sorry I haven't been able to meet up yet, and the 12th is out as well as I'm doing a spa day before I hit 32 weeks and can't have anything indulgent!

Hopefully the next one, and definitely from the 20th feb when mat leave starts.

Hope everybody is doing well and had a great Christmas!

Hi all,

Just checking in as we finally exchanged today so will definitely be moving over to South east London at the end of Jan. i am so relieved - house moving while pregnant is very stressful!

Looking forward to attending some meet ups from feb.

Jude we hope to do the refreshers course but I think Ariadna needs some more people to join so it can run so hopefully it will.

Right off to book removals, change hospitals, sort out nursery etc etc .....

Take care all

Hi ladies,

Happy New Year! It really would be lovely to meet up sometime soon, but unfortunately the days/ times/ locations just haven't worked for us!!

As much as I would like to meet all the lovely mommies on this thread - I'd be especially keen to meet second/third... time parents - so the older kids can have a play as well (I have a 2 year old boy and a 3 1/2 year old girl who goes to Heber nursery in the mornings)

Also keen to hear how your going to cope and if you thought of having any help (currently looking for a mothers helper/ part time nanny for when number 3 arrives!) Or if anyone would be interested in a nanny-share for the older ones??

So would anyone be around to meet up during weekday mornings between 9 & 11.30ish? (working around school pick ups / nap times)

If not - I really will try and make it for one of the next meet ups!

    • @beansprout The Swedes seem to have a useful strategy with regard to offenders  which has reduced repeat offending.  I agree that prison time for minor offences is a complete waste of time. Even worse is that prisons are "colleges of crime" where inmates learn about how to be do crimes and worst of all, become exposed to drug taking. I wouldn't advocate having chain gangs as in the USA but some strategy for getting them into say manual work under supervision might be useful - especially if it came with a modest wag. This would be significantly cheaper than the £51,100 it costs per year for  keeping one in jail.
    • I agree there are other options, but apart from cutting off bits of the body, which is probably not going to happen here, at least hopefully not in my lifetime, I wouldn't call them"stricter"! Unfortunately ultimately it may depend on what is cost effective in terms of implementation.
    • This year it was Pfizer. Last year was Moderna and I was quite  ill after it for the first time. I think last year was the only time I have had Moderna, but the illness may have been nothing to do with what kind of jab it was, I don't know. I have no idea whether everyone gets the same one in any particular year, but I'm sure someone else on here will know!
    • Thanks for posting this JMK we have had 3 children at Charter East so have been involved with the school from the very early days and have watched the impact of inconsistent, unsupportive and at worst unprofessional and biased management on them over the years. Individual teachers have at times been great and as JMK says it is the overall structure that creates a toxic and punitive atmosphere which directly impacts some families more than others and these are the kids overwhelmingly that have an SEN.  The experience of these families is night and day compared with the families with children that can cope in this system.
