bigbadwolf
Right you lot, is there a property or road in east Dulwich or surrounding areas that you would like to live in or would really like to see inside. I live in Forest hill, you know, the place with far more superior views than east Dulwich. Anyway for me it would have to be Liphook cresent in fozzy hill but I'd love to have a legal shufty round some of the village properties.P.s Can those of you in Peckham and Nunhead try not to get too grabby and fanciful in your choices, thanks. Jeremy
There's a huge house on half moon lane... it's on a corner, possibly at the junction with Ardbeg Road. It looks real nice! Kells
I want the one by Gallery Road, it's kind of cream coloured, with green shutters. Don't know why, I just fell in love with it.I'd love to live in St John's Woodhouse. Any millionaires out there to come save me?!:)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5660-edf-fantasy-homes/#findComment-181628 Share on other sites

Keef
I always liked some of the houses overlooking Peckham Rye, although they are all no doubt divided in to flats now. Moos
I know what you mean, MM, our view is good too. I think my ED fantasy house would be one of the ones in the Gardens, although they are ridiculously large for one family. david_carnell
I quite like the detached villa opposite the herne tavern. 'Twas on the market recently for some outrageous price. And like Moos a whole house in the Gardens would be lovely. citizenED
There is a lovely one overlooking Peckham Rye just down from the Barry Road junction. Its not the largest, but just always looks so appealing. I'm saving for it now - target date, July 2087. Pickle
There are some lovely big houses on Colyton Rd that I would love to look inside, one in particular that's been refurbished recently - I see them daily as I walk into Peckham Rye Park. Also the big detached place opposite the Herne, although not sure about the location. There are some gorgeous houses in Dulwich Village, but I much prefer living in ED! matthew123
When I come out of Dulwich Park at Old College Gate, having burst my lungs running like an Olympic Champion, I see those big imposing houses just up from the mini-roundabout, and bet they are fully equipped with all the pleasures to aid recovery starting with a steam bath.. Ted Max
I've been getting a good look at most of my fantasy homes in the area by peeking through letterboxes. I'm stunned how few hallways have both original flooring and cornicing retained. I think the owners are ashamed too because they rarely seem pleased by my interest. Ted Max
My findings on the areas hallways are:Farrow 'n' Ball Georgian Duck Egg has been usurped recently by Designer's Guild Aged Sage for the walls. Antique white still very much in vogue for woodwork and any decorative plasterwork.Granny's coat and umbrella stand gets an outing in most 499k+ properties. At ?650+ her mirror over occasional table set comes out of storage as well. Those people that have to buy their own furniture usually invest in one of those distressed white mirrors from Northcross road, at this point.Sub 420k it's IKEA coathooks leaning out of the crumbling plasterwork under the strain of a family's worth of winter clothing. citizenED
Yes Moos, that's the one - but I don't fight girls so I claim it since I bagsed it first. But then, actually I don't fight boys either, not my cup of tea, so if you want it, it's yours. I'll just look on wistfully as you and yours sip Earl Grey in the Drawing Room.
