  1. Well said SJ and JB. I didn't mean to suggest that the location was a problem per se, just that it would prevent me personally from becoming a frequent visitor (only went there twice, to see bands).

I detect a hint of defensiveness, coupled with a sprinkling of sarcasm. IMO the area between East Dulwich Road and the railway line is the nicest area.
  3. As StraferJack says, if the models are wearing bikinis, then page 3 will lose its appeal and will die out.
  4. I wouldn't really say it was especially sought after - lots of people will be put off because it's so far from the nearest station, so it tends to be cheaper than the northern end of East Dulwich, or even the nicer streets in Peckham. Saying that, some of the nicest properties are around that area, it's relatively peaceful, and some of the gardens are quite large. So I'm sure it suits some people perfectly.
  5. I suspect that in the future (maybe within some of our lifetimes) driverless/pilotless vehicles will be commonplace. I wouldn't fancy volunteering as a passenger for the beta version, though...

  7. That's the problem for me personally, the pub is a long long walk from where I live, with no obvious public transport route. But if all the investors are planning to drink there regularly, then it sounds like they're half way there already. And if they can undercut places like The Clockhouse due to the lack of beer tie, then that should also help.
  8. Hopkins wants nothing to do with Ward...
  9. Good meeting you KK, and also HMB. I don't think there was any doubt whose arm would be raised, Froch was pretty dominant for much of the fight. I' definitely give Kess 3 or so rounds though.
  10. It's a tough one. I personally cannot understand why people want certain types of dog which have been bred specifically for fighting and blood sports. I guess it's an image thing. But on the other hand, something like an Alsatian (or other large dog) could be very dangerous in the wrong hands too. So not sure where you would draw the line.
  11. If you see someone in a black hoodie, jeans, grey T-shirt. Could use a hair cut. That's me...
  12. Strong chance I'll be there too...
  13. DC - at 5'11, Lebedev seems short for the weight. I reckon most cruisers are something like 6'1-6'3. But it's still perfectly possible to be effective against taller guys at that height (e.g. Tyson) Meanwhile, Guillermo Jones must have been a freakishly lanky welterweight (I thought Paul Williams was a tall welter at 6'1)! I'm cynical about this weight mismatch thing. I can't find the results of the weigh-in online, but in any division (expect heavy) you'd expect both guys to be close to the limit. Interestingly, despite the large height difference, Jones seems to be the one who's carrying a bit of extra body fat.
  14. Yeah, I have no problem with the doctors or any of the staff. It's just that the 3+ week waiting list for appointments is completely appalling and unacceptable.
  15. Nice one. I heard that the fight starts at 11pm.
  16. Holy crap!
  17. I'm familiar enough with Lebedev to know that he's no mug (albeit rather short for a cruiser). Had only heard of Guillermo Jones in passing, to be honest. But I see that in 2007 he knocked out Jeremy Bates in the first round...
  18. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Lots of Brits backing Froch, including Calzage, > who doesn't usually have nice things to say about > him (or the other way around). Yeah, but it was very much a back handed compliment... "I don't think Kessler is the fighter he was when I beat him", etc.
  19. According to http://www.matchpint.co.uk, there are a couple of pubs in Clapham and three in the Borough/London Bridge area showing it. The fight is on Sky box office (PPV).
  20. I don't understand the point of this thread. Surely nobody is going to condone the dangerous behaviour in the highlighted cases. The opening post is clearly designed to divide opinion and polarise the discussion... basically create an argument where really there isn't one. Can we stop with all this fucking nonsense now, it's getting boring.
  21. Just read this myself. "they should have let him come to finish me"... that's exactly why fights are stopped! So... anyone know a pub showing Froch/Kessler?
  22. TD - if it's possible to get access to the land, it might be worth just biting the bullet and paying someone to sort it out. Even if access isn't possible, they may be able to spray it if it's immediately adjacent to your property. Alternatively you could get a pressurised sprayer and some powerful weedkiller, and have a go at it yourself. Don't just leave it alone, it spreads like crazy.
  23. The AA "guarantee" is a bit of a rip-off, and the "guard-x" stuff is a crock of shit. Wish I'd posted that before you made your purchase. As for the issue with your car - sounds like it only cropped up after you bought the car, so not sure how CG could have known about it. The cars aren't serviced and are basically "sold as seen", but that's one of the reasons they're so cheap. It's a risk you take, unfortunately. It's quite normal for second hand cars to be sold without tax, but they should have made it clear when you bought it. It's stupid to include a tax disc and then ask you for the money a week later!
  24. I quite liked the male soprano dressed up as dracula. I'd watch it more often if there was more shit like that.
  25. Or the entire French government.
