  1. You cannot have an inch of your bumper hanging over a dropped kerb or you will get a ticket (usually at 7am!) The council have at least 2 mopeds going around in the mornings checking kerbs and disabled bays in that immediate area. One thing I have noticed since the double yellows have been put in place is that parking is being wasted as people, in their eagerness to have their car door opposite their front door, are wasting 2 or 3 feet of space near the corners....

https://www.metro.news/bmw-bosses-we-are-here-to-stay-hard-brexit-or-not/1118446/ Andrew may have to relocate though..... And BEING in the EU did not help Southampton workers- their jobs were moved to Turkey http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/10020273.Ford_s___80m_EU_loan_to_boost_Turkey_factory_-_and_close_ours/ AND I wonder how much marching powder DD stuck up his nose- in true East End Lad fashion before the show?
  3. 'accidentally picked up a jacket'...goodness such faith in human nature...congratulations and all the best for the future!
  4. temperatures in the high 20s next week- that's midsummer alright- hosepipe ban next and we'll know it is truly summer!

I got one of those flyers today- sounds like exactly the same one...seems like people are happy for the destruction and desecration to go on. I am not 'religious' in the 'god' definition and will not therefore demand a plot... but I have a devotion to the precious environment.

It says 'London Bloodbath'...I took it to mean a continuation of the bloodbath we have been experiencing in London...especially since we overtook New York in February for the number of stabbings. More police will not alter the mindset- many kids think that they are surrounded by other kids that are carrying and anyway, they improvise when it comes to weapons...
  9. I googled antonyms to 'subtle' as NONE of them are subtle (unfortunately) and it said- 'crude, lurid' and an archaic antonym- 'artless'- imvho just about sums it up- I did not vote

(Is it sexist then?) There are plenty of rage-filled ranty men and women out there of all races- David Lammy is a good example As far as the undercover cops are concerned- anyone who is undermining decent society by breaking the law and putting young people in danger DESERVE to be infiltrated if that's what gets the job done....and, of course, WE demand that the job gets done!

  12. Some insurers include vandalism protection now as standard with no loss of No-Claims bonus. This is probably a response to the increase in mindless activity that we are experiencing.
  13. here is one example embedded in James' link https://www.schoolstogether.org/projects/all-year-2-pupils-at-harris-primary-east-dulwich-take-part-in-swimming-lessons-at-alleyns-school/ Don't forget- many parents go without flashy cars, holidays etc to send their kids privately- it is a CHOICE. What about the EXCLUSIVE faith schools- they get extra money from their faith groups as well as YOUR tax money- do they share facilities- I doubt it....and I know that they have MUCH more in the way of funding than the average state school..while they are brainwashing young minds to be homophobic all in the name of their particular spaghetti monster

Most of the time we ate simple wholesome home cooked foods. Veg and fruit in season, neck of lamb stews etc. The processed stuff and the packet instant stuff were a rare treat. And I can't remember ever eating between meals. What about Dream Topping?...We did our own wedding food and put Dream Topping on individual trifles. My little brother went round with a spoon and ate the Dream Topping off the whole lot while the poor trifles were waiting in another room....
  15. When you think you've heard or seen it all....
  16. the rules used to be 1 bonfire per month for 1 hour at dusk (except Guy Fawkes and Xmas) and you cannot burn anything other than garden waste...although that can go in the brown bin now.....some people are just horrible

Exactly the same can be said for ALL the schools around here- especially the primary schools!

  20. I believe Mr Y-L because the same things were happening in Newham starting in the 1970s. (I daresay Mr RH will call me a liar but hey-ho.
  21. They are flying higher from the east but there appears to be an increase in traffic into the City Airport- like one every 10 minutes yesterday afternoon from the south
  22. Easier still would be if people took their waste home and recycled it themselves- if they REALLY cared!

I do- it comes into your mind with monotonous regularity rh- you haven't enough experience of politics on the ground to know that it is actually true
