  1. that's a lovely story. i hope your mum makes a swift recovery
  2. I think a single thread would get far too jumbled if there's more than one incident at a time being discussed. Also some of the new crime posts that pop up are from new or infrequent users so I doubt they will know that they should only be posting in one thread.
  3. hopefully lilly123 had had one too many glasses of wine when she wrote that! Good luck Davy
  4. If the Lordship Lane thread hadn't been posted I would still be thinking that a 16 year old boy had died of stabbed wounds which is what a shop owner told my boyfriend. I think threads like that one can actually bring out the nicer truth.
  5. I agree with littleEDfamily. They don't make me any more scared. Incidents happened before the forum existed, and sadly they will continue to happen. Just ignore them if they irritate you.
  6. Also get the I'd never live somewhere that doesn't have a tube. Generally followed by some explanation of why they'd never live that far out of London. Then they seem shocked at it being zone 2 but still think it's too far out.
  7. Oh it's a bit full of yuppies down there isn't it. That's what i got last time.
  8. Interesting Mathew and I never knew you could find out hygiene ratings etc. It goes to show that you can't judge a butchers by the people in it's queue!
  9. There must be some good ones in there and it's sad that they all get tarnished with the same filthy brush (including by me!). Anyone have a favourite one?

No but the raw chicken on the trolley they re-use might! Of course rain won't do you any harm but I still don't think it's 'allowed'. I'm not naive when it comes to what happens to meat from field to my belly. I am guilty of pushing it to the back of my mind when I buy meat from supermarkets though. Seeing salmonella being wheeled along in a trolley first hand has put me off the butchers on the rye though and no doubt if I saw the practices of supermarkets first hand rather than just on the telly i'm sure i'd change my shopping habits.
  11. Having witnessed a butcher on rye lane unload raw chicken directly into a shopping trolley in the rain then push it up the high street to his shop I certainly wouldn't buy meat from any of them.
  12. Not all restaurants do that but I very surprising amount do. I think there was talk of making a new rule/law (don't know correct word!) to make employers not use tips as part of the actual wage.
  13. HNY muji has a very lovely desk that i think might be your style. It's ash but it may be a bit small for what you're looking for but might be worth looking on their website.
  14. Ebay now has feedback specifically for postage costs so sellers can longer make their profit on the postage.
  15. I prefer the second one by far. Buy it
  16. ask sensibleman to take a photo on the sly if they're still around sillywoman incase the police ever get round to following up on the phonecall.

It's true!
  18. I don't understand why anyone doesn't say who they've voted for (with the exception of voting for the BNP possibly).
  19. I don't know it but i'd be very surprised if you couldn't just downlaod it from the site (whether you have to pay or not). Can you not find it on their site or something? Try FAQ's

  21. Well done on the job. It's not by chance with Off to work is it? I did agency waitressing for a while a few years ago with them.
  22. People who don't use "my" eg. I saw Mum yesterday when she's their mum not mine. 101% 110% 200% 1000000% the list goes on You can't get higher than 100%
  23. is your name Bruno?
  24. My sister when she was little somehow got chewing gum stuck to her eyelashes and eyelids and my dad scrubbed it off (nothing else worked) which resulted in a bit of a black eye. The next day at school the teacher asked her what happened to her eye and she said "daddy did it". My parents got a very interesting phonecall. Same sister when my dad fainted because he cut his finger rang my mum up and said daddys collapsed on the floor then more or less hung up. She was a tinker that one.
  25. oops looks like i let slip one of my hobbies ;-)
