Vietnamese restaurant (NOT) to be opened in April

Not being trite. But I tried marinaded dog meat whilst backpacking through Ho Chi Minh City a few years ago. It was delicious and lean and great with fresh chilli, sesame oil noodles and some coriander.

It was more of a lab type than a terrier I think. So it would be great to see dog on the menu.

I second all that - love Vietnamese. Much lighter and fresher than Chinese and will save me heading to Shoreditch to satisfy my cravings. Good luck!

Sounds great. When you say you are doing lots of veggie options, does this mean that you don't have anchovies/shrimp paste in your veggie sauces? (Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but quite often when I go looking for Oriental sauces, these are included).

Wee quinnie - correct we won't be using fish sauce or shrimp paste in our vegetarian dishes. We will be using soya bean, sea salt or vegetable stock.

Sorry but negotiations have brokern down at an advance stage. We couldn't agreed the terms of the lease. So we are back to square one and looking for another suitable site on Lordship Lane.

On a recent stroll I was very surprised by the number of vacant shopfronts along LL. And soon to include Tulip Cafe and Inside 72. Seems like a waste of good space (and ideas, as we have seen above).

It is disappointing, especially after the Vietnamese coffee place decided to pull out of Peckham a few months ago. Real shame that things people want aren't able to set up shop. Nero
