Tony.London Suburbs
I was thinking of Simon Odubanjo who worked with a Group of us in the 1980's.Before he left he "borrowed" money from, almost everyone, and asked them all to keep silent about it.One night in the Pub months later a Guy mentioned it and it transpires that he conned everyone else sitting there, as well...When some Guys bumped into him on The Undergound months later he said that "He had found God".....to which they replied "Has God got that ?600 you "borrowed" to lend you?"... Tony.London Suburbs
People interfering.People who drag others into their personal disputes.People who put pressure on their Partners to become detached from their Families while staying close to their own.People who put pressure on their friends and colleagues to dislike someone because, they (and they alone) are currently in dispute with someone.People who give the impression that its all the other persons fault with lines like "Well all my friends feel the same"People who believe their friends when they ask who is right when they are having an argument with someone....Of course their friends are going to say "YOU are in the right!", particularly if they do not know the other person.People who act very differently to someone when they are on their own but get "self-conscious" towards that person when others are around, especially if any of the others do not like the other person. PATHETIC.Neighbours who always speak, except when their friends around and they do not even acknowledge you.People who run to Admin, as soon as the going gets slightly tough.People who speak differently about you in Public to what they do behind closed doors (In Offices for example).People who take things too personally.People who think they are always in the right.People who are incapable of looking at the bigger picture.People who are totally selfish.People who are programmed to receive and not give.People who want to be forgiven INSTANTLY and yet when THEY are "the innocent/injured" party want to continue the "punishment" for days/weeks until they have punished you sufficiently.People with glass jaws who like dishing it out while not being capable of receiving any criticism, in return.People who form cliques in Offices etc.People who are your "bestest" friend when they are new and know few people but then drop you as soon as they are part of the main crowd, they only used you for their introductory period and have no further use for you.People who love to belittle others yet can not take a joke themselves (thats "different")People who go into stroppy silences after a dispute (I used to love that with certain Females in Offices as I would carry on talking to them when they had the hump with me and I have to say it was hilarious as they could not reply as they were "not talking"!...Abusers.That will do, for starters, off the top of my head.:))People who do not realise that we are incredibly blessed and very fortunate to be here and waste too many moments of the little precious time we have.PEOPLE WHO DO NOT STAY IN CONTACT WITH THEIR LOVED ONES AND THEN REGRET IT BITTERLY WHEN THEY SUDDENLY DIE AND ITS TOO LATE..and they want sympathy! You had your chance but, in truth, you could not be bothered and now you want us to believe you are Sorry?? Bollix.. RosieH
People who think that couching sexism / racism / any other ism in jokey banter renders it somehow acceptableThe word "lady" used without a hint of irony other than in the expression "ladies and gentleman"The South London Press headline "Mum cleared of attack on lover with car" (or something similar) - unless her lover was also her child, which surely would be the story, what the hell has her parental status got to do with it? PinkyB
I think this thread has started to venture into the realms of great big things that nobody could possibly have a problem with, eg: "rude people". Getting back to the teeny tiny trivia:When I'm drinking a bottle of something in the street and the lid falls off and rolls into the gutter so then I have to walk around for the rest of the day with a bottle with no lid on and assistants glaring at me in shops in case I spill water on their goods. When you buy a pint at the bar and they give you your change on a tiny little tray. This is not New York, you are not Tom Cruise in Cocktail, and I am not leaving you a tip for pouring me a pint, stupid little tray or not. When you buy something in Boots and they insist on giving you a pointless discount voucher for something you didn't want in the first place. And then seem incapable of understanding that not only have you not got a Boots card, but you don't want one, either. Shop assistants who man the doors and say, brightly, "Good morning!" and "Thank you! Goodbye!" when you enter and leave the shop. How about you concentrate on making sure the clothes are on the right size hangers and there isn't a 20-person long queue for the till instead? People who tell you that they're sorry, they've let the room to "a friend of a friend" and then continue to advertise the room on Gumtree, Moveflat or the ED Forum for several weeks afterwards. Why not just be honest, for ****'s sake? Chances are I didn't like you either! Caused quite a stir in a pub in Shoreditch with that one.
